The Food Fighters

Danny’s Dietary Dream Match

Mission: To educate the younger generation about diabetes through a fun and enjoyable experience through gaming.

Tagline: “Beat It If You Can Eat It”

Game Purpose: The main purpose of the game is to educate the younger generation about diabetes and healthy eating habits.

Benefit of the user and the sponsor:

User: A fun gaming experience as well as knowledge on diabetes, what it does to your body, and healthy eating habits to help you prevent it.

Sponsor: Business wise, cash would flow in because as much as 25.8 million people in the United States is diagnosed with diabetes. In 2007, the total cost of diagnosed diabetes in the United States was $174 billion. On the other hand, it is a new and more fun way to educate people with or in the risk of diabetes about eating habits and how it affects your blood sugar level.

Game difference from other games: Our game is a fast phase beat down/ defense game that will not only teach you, but keep your body and mind occupied in a very fun and enjoyable way.

Danny's Sprite Sheet - First pass

Just finished my first pass of the main character. Its just the silhouette and is still missing a lot of animations, namely "Grab Mode - Idle" and all the grapple attacks and holds. But it should be enough to use for the prototype. I'll try to get an enemy sprite sheet going soon.

Stage 1 Environment Complete

I just finished creating all the assets for Stage 1. I sent out the mass email to all three teams and included this "How To" guide which I used to test out all the assets. Time to get work on the animations.

Damn... Work never ends... :(

Gameplay Reference

A guest speaker at my school recommended that I take a look at this game called "Super Crate Box" by Dutch developer Vlambeer.

I feel its a great reference for game speed, level design, and game play. Have a look when you get a chance.
